About Me
Hi! I'm Olivia. I'm 23 years old and live in North Lincolnshire. Teaching is my passion; it's something I have always loved and I can't imagine doing anything else!
I've been working in education for four years now. First as an in-school tutor then as a teaching assistant at Winifred Holtby Academy. During my time there I learnt so much about working with children and how to help them reach their potential.

I love music and have also been giving piano lessons for several years. I used to be a part of my school orchestra, Hull Philharmonic and I also played in the band for many musical productions including The Sound of Music at Hull Truck Theatre.

In school, I was shy and quite anxious. There were many teachers that made extra time for me and had a real impact on my life. I want to do the same for others. For more information about me and how I can help you, visit the 'About' section of this website or get in touch!

Why do I need a tutor?
GCSE's are difficult. That's why every school works hard to provide high quality education to get their pupils up to standard for these tough exams. So why hire a tutor?

Firstly, the student gets all the attention. Teachers do their very best to control classrooms of around 30 students which often include other pupils who either don't want to work or like to cause distractions. While this is not always the case - there could be a class of 30 silent, hard working pupils - it is still a challenge to attend to all the needs of such a large group. In a 1:1 setting, the student is never waiting for an answer to a question, is never distracted by others and has the full attention of the tutor. There's more...

Not all students learn the same way. Being in a 1:1 setting allows the tutor to tailor the lesson to the specific needs of the student. Once you know what kind of learner you're dealing with (be it visual, auditory etc.) you can deliver a more focused and appropriate lesson. Other benefits include increased creativity, use of devices and improved communication!
